NHBF Sponsors Catwalk Hairdressing and Half Body Painting at AHT National Competition 2024
The National Hair and Beauty Federation (NHBF) is proud to announce its sponsorship of the Catwalk Hairdressing and Half Body Painting categories at the 2024 Association of Hairdressers and Therapists (AHT) National Competition.
The AHT National Competition showcases the exceptional talents and creativity of aspiring hair and beauty professionals from training centres nationwide. By sponsoring the Catwalk Hairdressing and Half Body Painting categories, the NHBF aims to empower and inspire the next generation of professionals specialising in these particular areas of the sector.
Lend to SMEs increase in Q1 2024
UK Finance data shows that further growth in business lending from high street banks took place at the start of 2024, following an increase at the end of 2023. Q1 2024 saw a 15 per cent increase compared with the previous quarter. At just over £4 billion, this was eight per cent higher than in the same period in 2023.
While most regions in the UK saw this growth, the greatest increases in new lending to SMEs took place in the East Midlands, London and the North East. Lending rose in eight of the ten main sectors covered by UK Finance data, with the largest increases to SMEs operating in education, real estate, professional services and construction.
Lilac Review
The NHBF met with Small Business Britain last week who are leading the Lilac Review. It is an independent review aiming to tackle the inequality faced by disabled-led businesses and level up entrepreneurial opportunities across the UK. The review remit also includes neurodiversity. The review launched in February 2024 and is seeking to identify the barriers faced by disabled-led businesses in the UK and develop an action plan to remove them.

NHBF 2024 Annual General Meeting
The 82nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on Monday 1 July 2024 at 2 pm at National Hair & Beauty Federation, One Abbey Court, Fraser Road, Priory Business Park, Bedford, MK44 3WH.
