Latest ONS Retail Sales Index figures
 
Kris Hamer, Director of Insight at the British Retail Consortium, commented on the recent ONS Retail Sales Index, which showed positive growth driven by warmer weather and increased holiday spending. Sales rose by 2.2% in value and 1.4% in volume. Despite the ongoing impact of the high cost of living on consumers, retailers are optimistic that the recent easing of interest rates will boost consumer confidence.
 
Extend child benefit for your teen before 31st August

Parents have less than two weeks to notify HM Revenue and Customs that their 16-19 year-old is continuing education or training. For parents who haven’t yet extended their claim, the payments will stop after 31 August. This can be done online or on the HMRC app.
