27 October 2014
The vital contribution hairdressing makes to our high streets will be celebrated today October 27 2014 when an NHBF member makes her debut as one of Small Business Saturday’s “Small Biz 100” businesses.
This year the “shop local” campaigning group is championing 100 businesses through social media, one a day for the 100 days leading up to Small Business Saturday on 6 December.
NHBF member Barbara McNaughton’s Elements salon in Oxted, Surrey, has been chosen to be today’s featured Small Biz 100 business.
It means she and her team will be highlighted nationally on Twitter, with the Small Business Saturday team also coming to the salon to make a movie.
As well as this, Barbara will be invited to join the Small Business Saturday’s bus which will be in Camden, north London, on 4 December to help publicise its campaign.
I think it is really important members get involved and that we all get together to shout out about our community,” said Barbara.
Hairdressers sometimes forget, or just don’t realise, what an important part of the high street they are. So get out there and support Small Business Saturday!
The NHBF is urging salons to retweet and contribute to today’s activity (@SmallBizSatUk) and, more generally, get involved locally and tell their clients about Small Business Saturday.
