Today it has been announced that Anne Veck, Christian Wiles and Hellen Ward will become new industry ambassadors for the NHBF and the NHBF. They will take on the high-profile role of motivating and inspiring members across the UK to build successful and profitable businesses. All three ambassadors will be making their debut at the NHBF’s Business Awards on Sunday 04 November. Visit nhf.info/nhfbusinessawards for more information.
Anne Veck, who runs award-winning salons in Oxford and Bicester will become the NHBF’s new Hair Ambassador. Anne explains, “I can’t understand how salon owners manage without being members! The NHBF has been a lifeline for us ever since I opened my first salon over 25 years ago, so being asked to embark on the role of Hair Ambassador was a real honour.”
I couldn’t be more delighted to take on this high-profile role with such a trusted body
Christian Wiles, who has worked with some of the biggest names in the industry is the NHBF’s first ever Male Grooming and Barbering Ambassador. Christian says, “I couldn’t be more delighted to take on this high-profile role with such a trusted body. The NHBF is like a salon owner and stylist’s bible rolled into one – it is an excellent and reliable source of reference. I can’t wait to give back to the industry and share some of the knowledge I’ve gained over the years.”
Hellen Ward, MD of Richard Ward Hair & Metrospa, Vice President of the British Association of Women Entrepreneurs, and a regular beauty writer will be the NHBF’s first Beauty Ambassador. Hellen comments, “I have always championed the NHBF 100%. There hasn’t been a voice that truly crosses over between hair and beauty, but that’s where the NHBF will help. It's brilliant news that the NHBF will be providing the same valuable support for beauty salons. It’s fantastic to be part of that journey.”
Hooker & Young
The new ambassadors will build on the achievements of industry icons Gary Hooker & Michael Young. The multi-award-winning duo, who are behind the renowned hairdressing brand Hooker & Young, became the NHBF’s first ambassadors in 2017 as part of the leading trade organisation’s 75th anniversary celebrations.
Hilary Hall, NHBF chief executive, said “Our ambassadors have a wealth of industry knowledge, experience and expertise that they plan to share with our Members over the coming year.
The aim of the ambassadors is to make a real difference to individual hair and beauty businesses
“The aim of the ambassadors is to make a real difference to individual hair and beauty businesses by injecting fresh passion, new ideas and innovative ways of working that could potentially transform salons and barbershops.
“We can’t wait for them to meet our Members at our Business Awards event and to see everything we have planned for the ambassadors come to fruition – it’s going to be a very exciting year!”
