The National Hairdressers’ Federation’s new-look website has been highly commended in a prestigious industry competition.
The website http://www.nhf.info/ was relaunched in February with a completely new look and extra functionality, and its effectiveness, ease of access and clarity all won high praise at the Memcom Membership Awards in May.
Memcom celebrates the communications activities of membership bodies, charities and not-for-profit organisations. Its annual awards cover a wide range of categories, including newsletters, annual reports and social media campaigns, among others.
The best website category was a closely fought contest, with the NHBF up against five other heavy-weight members’ organisations, including the British Medical Association and Chartered Management Institute.
NHBF came joint second, one of just two entries to be “highly commended” by the judges.
NHBF director for membership and development Stephanie Munno said:
“Against such high-powered competition even to come second was a fantastic result. The feedback we have had from members is that they love the look, feel and extra functionality of the website, and it was great to have that recognised by a body such as Memcom.”
The new site allows members to shop online 24/7, has real-time industry news and product launches, offers, access to social media feeds and back copies of members’ magazine SalonFocus and incorporates a ‘salon search’ map tool and ‘NHBF Spotlight’ tool, featuring new benefits and member offers.
