Campaigning for you – Ministerial engagement
Since the general election, NHBF has written to key Ministers in the Department for Business & Trade, HM Treasury and the Department for Education. We wrote to Gareth Thomas MP the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State responsible for Services, Small Business and Exports in DBT, welcoming him to his new role, sending the latest quarterly State of the Industry survey results and requesting a meeting. We are keen to continue the conversation with the department for business & trade (DBT) about the Employment Rights Bill, recent and future wage rises and the impact on the sector and solutions for the future.
Small businesses affected by UK riots
Following the shocking disturbances seen last week all over the UK, many businesses have suffered damage or disruption as a consequence. More than 700 arrests were made and over 300 people were charged with potentially hundreds more to follow.
