Resources and advice for small businesses
The UK's advertising regulator, the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), has consolidated a range of online resources on advertising guidelines for small businesses into a unified platform.
The ASA's online hub provides comprehensive information on various subjects, including the applicable regulations your business must comply with, from conducting promotional campaigns to publishing on your social media accounts and developing website content.
Protect your business from social media hacks
Businesses need to take measures to protect their social media accounts from potential hacks, according to a warning from the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC).
Phishing attacks targeting businesses' social media accounts have become increasingly common, with scammers impersonating Facebook, Meta, and Instagram to steal login credentials through spoofed login sites. Once hackers obtain login details, they may lock the user out of their account, holding it to ransom. If you receive a suspicious message or email, report it to the NCSC immediately.
