How employers are benefitting from T Level industry placements
T Levels are new courses which follow GCSEs and are equivalent to 3 A levels. These 2-year courses, which launched September 2020, have been developed in collaboration with employers and businesses so that the content meets the needs of industry and prepares students for work, further training or study.
T Levels offer students a mixture of classroom learning and ‘on-the-job’ experience during an industry placement of at least 315 hours (approximately 45 days).
Here are examples of how businesses are making the most of T Level industry placements.
Have your say on Level 2 Hairdressing Professional and Barbering Professional apprenticeship standards for England
Do you have an apprentice on the Level 2 Hair Professional Apprenticeships, or are you thinking of taking on an apprentice? If so, you now have the chance to influence how this apprenticeship will change and develop in the future.
Following the Institute for Apprenticeship and Technical Education (IfATE) route review in mid-2019, the review of the Hair Professional standard was temporally placed on hold due to the Coronavirus in 2020. The Hair Professional Apprenticeship Steering Group (HPASG) and Expert working groups have been working over the last year to review the apprenticeships, which is now ready for wider consultation.
Read the consultation and complete survey here.
Home Office online immigration services
The Home Office would like to speak to small businesses to help make their immigration online services easier to use for employers. If you have employed individuals who require a visa to work in the UK, used to in the past, or if you plan to in the future, your feedback could be really helpful in improving online services.
