T Level Professional Development programme: evaluation report

The Government has introduced new T Level qualifications to meet industry needs and prepare students for entry into skilled employment, an apprenticeship or related technical study through further or higher education. They are two-year courses taken after GCSEs, broadly equivalent to 3 A Levels.

The TLPD programme is free to access and voluntary. It is designed to be accessible, with different delivery modes including 'bite-sized' webinars through to residentials, complementary to other provisions available to providers, and tailored to the needs of different groups within the sector's workforce.

A formative and summative assessment of how far the T Level Professional Development programme (TLPD) has met its objectives. T Level Professional Development programme: evaluation research report is now available to review.

This report evaluates the reach, engagement and effect of the second phase of TLPD, which began in May 2020.

The report draws evidence from:

  • monitoring data
  • satisfaction data
  • impact survey data
  • surveys with senior leaders and route leaders
  • 71 case study interviews with 11 providers

Government launches Energy Taskforce

The Government has launched a new energy efficiency taskforce which aims to help businesses become more energy efficient and cut national energy consumption by 15 per cent over the next seven years.

Free First Aid Course

National Hair & Beauty Federation Members are urged to do a free online first aid course to ensure they know how to save a life.

CSALS (Community Save a Life Scheme) is a charity that promotes the need for more people with first aid skills. The free online course, offered by CSALS in partnership with Virtual College, takes around an hour to complete and includes various modules.

The course does not have to be completed in one go, meaning learners can fit it around their schedule. Once completed, a downloadable certificate is available.

Debra Johnson, CSALS' community facilitator, said: "It is vital that more and more people know how to administer first aid as you never know when you may be called upon to help someone in need. It really could be a matter of life or death.

"Around 10,000 people from all over the world have already completed the course, and we know that lives have been saved as a result of people having done the training."

More information can be found at www.csals.co.uk. To register for the course, please visit www.virtual-college.co.uk/prepared.
