Important warning from the NHBF: don’t pay extra for legal cover you already have

Some of our Members have been signing up for expensive legal and/or tax advice cover after being contacted by pushy salespeople.

Don’t fall for their sales talk – as an NHBF Member you do not need these expensive contracts or any other extra legal cover. You are already fully covered at no extra cost as part of your membership.

Legal cover contracts offered by other companies can tie you in for up to five years and very often you cannot get out of them after signing up.

We never ask our Members to sign up for any longer than one year at a time.

• 24/7 employment law advice helpline. 
• 24/7 commercial helpline to answer queries on commercial law, tax, VAT and payroll. 
• Up to £50,000 automatic legal expenses insurance cover for employment & tax disputes (T&Cs apply).
• Restrictive covenant enforcement advice and support. 
• Employment contracts.
• Apprentice agreements/deeds (Scotland & N Ireland).
• Chair and room/area renting agreements.

Dealing with pushy salespeople

 If pushy salespeople continue to contact you, ask them to take you off their contact list. If they still contact you, tell them you will report them to the ICO (Information Commissioner’s Office). Unwanted sales calls can be reported online here. 

Don’t get caught out by online adverts
