Talented stylists of all levels entered the NHBF and the Fellowship for British Hairdressing’s Step Up & SHINE competition for the chance to win a £2,500 bespoke education programme and mentoring from renowned industry expert Debbie G. The finalists have been announced today.
The finalists are:
- Aimee Goodwin, Jeff Goodwin Hair – Exeter
- Kim Moody, Simone Thomas – Bournemouth
- Kim Nicole Jones, Studio 1 Hair Design – Anglesey
- Lewis Wilson, Wilson’s Hairdressing – Macclesfield
- Michael Purvis, Elaine's Colour lab - Perth
- Nicola Hamm, Escape Hair Louise – Southsea
The next stage of Step Up & SHINE
The next stage of the prestigious competition sees the successful finalists interviewed at their salon by an NHBF representative. The final judging takes place in March with the winner of the Christofer Mann Step Up and SHINE 2018 scholarship announced at the Fellowship’s President’s night on Monday 9th April.
NHBF President Agnes Leonard said:
“Congratulations to all the finalists for getting this far in the competition. The Step Up and SHINE scholarship is a once in a lifetime opportunity, so we’re looking for a passionate and enthusiastic stylist whose career will really benefit from this invaluable mentoring. We wish all the finalists good luck and look forward to the next round of judging!”
To enter Step Up & SHINE 2018, stylists had to create a short video explaining their hairdressing background and ambitions and why they deserved to win.
