30 April 2020
This update covers the latest on the job retention scheme and a reminder that some government support measures may vary in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
Furlough wages now being paid
Payment takes six working days from when a claim is submitted. HMRC is asking employers not to chase for payments before this six-day period ends. Payments will be automatically sent to the bank account you nominated in your claim.
Remember to keep all your records and calculations in case HMRC contacts you in the future. Also – make sure your furloughed employees know what’s happening and ask them not to contact HMRC directly.
Not yet made a claim?
You can still claim online for 80% of your employees’ salaries if they are furloughed. Find out more.
