This update covers the extension to the furlough cut-off date, new FAQs for directors, and our new blog post about preparing for re-opening.
Furlough: extension to cut-off date
The government has announced an extension to the cut-off date for the coronavirus job retention scheme.
Previously, employees who were employed on or before 28 February 2020 could be furloughed.
This has now changed. The government has stated that:
Employers can claim for furloughed employees that were employed and on their PAYE payroll on or before 19 March 2020.
