2018’s Step Up & SHINE winner focuses on fashion at GHD’s Trend Reveal Seminar

Step Up & SHINE is the renowned industry competition that’s jointly run by the NHBF and the Fellowship for British Hairdressing. Nicola Hamm from Escape Hair Lounge in Portsmouth has been led on a lifechanging educational journey designed to enhance the talented stylist’s career since winning Step Up & SHINE in May 2018. Most recently, Step Up & SHINE has taken Nicola to GHD to attend a sought-after Trend Reveal Seminar.

On the trend led seminar, Nicola was able to learn all the GHD tool know-how, along with techniques to blow dry, curl and style so that she can create the latest looks that her clients will love. The GHD’s expert educators shared their dynamic focus on what’s new for the season ahead so that Nicola can now return to the salon prepared for the hair trends that her clients will be asking for.

Nicola commented: “The course made me realise that I should look to the world of fashion to gain ideas so that I can keep my clients up to date. I left the Trend Reveal Seminar feeling excited and inspired about styling and I can’t wait to try some of my new skills that I know my clients will love!”

Step Up & SHINE is in its fifth year, and was launched in honour of industry legend, Christofer Mann to nurture one passionate stylist so they can enhance and develop in their career.
